We would like to invite you to our next public seminar of the End-of-Life Care Research Group on Friday 26th of May from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, Auditorium 4, Building A on the Campus Jette of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Prior to the seminar, a sandwich lunch will be offered between 12:00 and 12:30 pm in room A045 (near auditorium 4).
The subject of this seminar will be “The electronic & digital monitoring of people with cancer in research and practice”.
Dr. Annemarie Coolbrandt, oncology nurse specialist at the University Hospital of Leuven, will open the seminar with a presentation on the development of her symptom diary for oncological patients. It will discuss the path taken to develop this tool, the barriers that were encountered and how this diary can be an improvement for the current patient care. Her presentation will be given in English.
Subsequently, Joran Geeraerts, PhD researcher at the End-of-Life Care Research Group, will discuss the results of his scoping review on the use of intensive electronic data collection and monitoring of patients with lung and breast cancer. This takes part in the future development of a tool that can offer a more intensive form of support for cancer patients when needed. This presentation will also be given in English.
Participation in the seminar is free, but registration is recommended. Please confirm your participation before the 19th of May via lien.dubois@vub.be.
