The results from scientific research gain importance when brought to the target groups and the general public.
Accomplishing this in a broad sense is termed ‘Valorisation’ – it is the building of the bridge between the scientist and relevant societal actors.
Valorisation includes science communication, by means of scientific and non-scientific publications, leaflets and brochures, but also interactive presentations and services rendered to other parties (such as lectures, advice, etc.).
Here you can find an overview of a few of the valorisation activities of the researchers in de MELC group, gathered in two categories: Media & Press, and Presentations. Valorisatie` is het door universiteiten ter beschikking stellen van academische kennis aan de maatschappij in het algemeen, en het bedrijfsleven in het bijzonder.
De term wordt vooral in Vlaanderen gebruikt, en is in Nederland minder bekend. Er zijn veel manieren om kennis en onderzoeksresultaten te valoriseren.
De onderzoeksgroep Zorg Rond het Levenseinde spitst zich toe op maatschappelijke valorisatie met als doelstellingen:
- Communicatie van de onderzoeksresultaten naar alle betrokken doelgroepen en naar het grote publiek, op een aangepast niveau.
- Toepassing van de resultaten in instrumenten nuttig voor de praktijk, bv. handboeken, richtlijnen, opleidingspakketten, etc.
